The Weather is so friggin' nice here in Calgary, it's time to share a BBQ ribs dry rub recipe with everyone!

I really enjoy acts of service within my tribe and family, and cooking is one of the major ways I give my love to the ones I care for. I am going to pass along this recipe to you guys to share your love with your special people.

This recipe I use with pork ribs, but I know for a fact it sits well on beef too.

Sides that work well for us are coleslaw, smashed taters, corn on the cob, fruit platters, veggie platters, garlic naan bread and so much more.

BBQ Ribs Dry Rub

Recipe by Marliana Alisemon

  • 1 cup Brown sugar

  • 3 TBSP Chili powder (more if you want a bite!)

  • 1.5 TBSP Smoked paprika

  • 1 TSP Pepper flakes (or not if you want less bite!)

  • 2 TBSP Garlic Salt

  • 1 TSP Cumin

  • 1 TBSP Dry mustard

  • 1 TSP Pepper

  • 2 TSP Himilayan salt

  • .5 TSP Cinnamon

  • Tell your dry rub how loved it is, and how grateful you are to it for seasoning your meal so well and beautifully (yes, I said what I said hahah! Energy is everything and it all communicates, and the more love we can put into our food.. the more healing it can be for everyone who is blessed to share a meal with you)

Combine in a large bowl and set aside. Place your rack of ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil. Grab your dry rub and coat both sides heavily. Wrap your ribs in the foil and place in the fridge for minimum 4 hours, best if left overnight.

Preheat your oven to 265F. (remove all pots and pans from oven first)

Take them out of the fridge when you're ready to start cooking. Take ribs our of the foil and place ribs in a larger roasting pan, or dutch oven meat side down. Do not use the lid, instead cover the top with foil. Place in the oven and let it ride for 90 minutes!

In that time you can prepare whatever sides you'd like to serve up.

Now it's time to BBQ these ribs!

Get your BBQ on and going, nice and hot. Grab your favourite BBQ sauce and your ribs. place ribs on BBQ and slather with your BBQ sauce, close the lid. and let them seer/caramelize under that high heat. Take them off when they are done to your desired outcome. Cut up and serve!
